About

Clearheaded Operations publishes short-form articles for operations leaders at mid-market companies: directors, VPs, SVPs, and COOs running organizations with $500M to $5B in revenue.

Every piece applies one of two frameworks: Rumelt’s Kernel from Good Strategy Bad Strategy (diagnosis, guiding policy, coherent actions) or Goldratt’s Theory of Constraints from The Goal (find the constraint, exploit it, subordinate everything else, elevate it, repeat). These are the two most useful lenses for operational thinking available. We use them seriously.

Articles are 3 to 5 minutes. Each one ends with a specific action item you can take Monday morning. No listicles, no motivational preamble, no broad conclusions that say nothing.

The author is a veteran operations executive with 15+ years leading strategy and operations at a billion-dollar business. The site is anonymous by design. The frameworks matter, not the byline.

If you lead operations and want clear thinking applied to real problems, subscribe. One article per week. Nothing else.
